Separate the promotion from the regular price
Write down the introductory monthly charge, how many months it lasts, and the price afterwards. If a quoted discount depends on autopay, paperless billing, or another service, check whether you qualify and what happens when that condition changes.
Add recurring and one-time charges
Equipment rental and other recurring charges change the monthly total. Installation and activation charges affect your starting cost. Check which taxes and fees are already included so you do not count them twice.
Read the provider’s Broadband Facts label
The provider’s label is a useful place to review the plan’s price, performance, and data allowance. Read it alongside the order summary and the terms for your particular address. Follow the links for additional information and ask the provider about anything unclear.
Compare the same period
A short promotion can look attractive on the first bill while costing more over a longer period. Our calculator compares the first 12 months and the full 24 months using prices you enter. It does not predict unannounced price changes.
Keep your own record
Save the final quote, the relevant label, and the confirmation. Note any promotional end date, required payment method, and contract conditions. Check your first bill against the order summary.
